This generally occurs in the initial stage of oil filtration.   The causes of bubble formation in vacuum oil filter filtration are as follows:

  1.Oil contains a large amount of water. The water in oil is heated and evaporated in vacuum (the boiling point of water is lower than that of oil), and becomes water vapor, which is released from oil in the form of bubbles. When water vapor can not be removed in time, it appears as foam accumulation on the surface of oil.

  2.Oil has cracked and cannot be reused. The hydraulic oil in turbine oil or hydraulic system is running at a higher temperature for a long time. Some low molecular component additives in the oil are continuously volatilized, and the foam resistance is disappearing. As time goes on, the oxidation is strengthened, the viscosity of oil increases, the oil film intensity increases, and the gas permeability is bad, which provides conditions for the formation and stability of foam. At this time, waste oil that can not be reused should be discarded. Generally speaking, vacuum oil filter can prolong the life of various oil products in steam turbine system for about three years, not indefinitely. Therefore, this situation requires constant addition of new oils and neutralization of oil quality or direct addition of anti foam agents with loss to oil products.

  3.the vacuum in the operation of the vacuum oil filter is too high, resulting in transient flash. The high temperature makes the light hydrocarbon and additives in the oil become the bubbles that are mixed into the oil, and the vacuum is too high. If a large quantity of water vapor is not recovered in time, or the recycling capacity of the design itself is not good, it will cause the interaction of water vapor and oil to form a new foam. If this happens, the vacuum can be lowered a little.

  It is inevitable that foam is produced in the filtration of vacuum oil filter, but it is better to know the cause of the foam correctly. With the filtration process, the foam will become less and less in the vacuum separation tank, and the working vacuum will be higher. When there is no foam, the oil will be qualified after being filtered.
